Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than 10 are counted at face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they only depict the 2 hands to be played).
Two hands of two cards will then be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for each hand will be the total of the two cards, but the first digit is dumped. For example, a hand of 7 as well as 5 will have a total score of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A third card might be given depending on the foll. protocols:
- If the bettor or banker has a score of eight or 9, each players stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart will be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have dollars still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie normally pays out at eight to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad wager as ties will occur lower than one every 10 hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Even so odds are decidedly better – 9 to one vs. 8 to one)
When played effectively, baccarat offers fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common false impressions. 1 of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future outcomes. Monitoring of past results on a chart is simply a total waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most popular and almost certainly most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-six concept. This scheme is deployed to amplify payout and cutting back risk.
start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth bet.
If you don’t win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. This means that you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
