Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than ten are counted at their printed number while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they just act as the two hands to be played).
Two hands of two cards will then be dealt to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for every hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of 7 … 5 results in a tally of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A third card may be played depending on the following protocols:
- If the player or banker has a score of eight or 9, both bettors stand.
- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the two scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even money minus a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have money remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie usually pay out eight to one and sometimes nine to one. (This is an awful bet as ties happen lower than one every ten hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Even so odds are substantially better – nine to 1 vs. eight to one)
When played smartly, baccarat provides fairly good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known false impressions. One of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way a predictor of future outcomes. Tracking of historic outcomes on a chart is a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most accepted and almost certainly most successful method is the 1-three-2-6 technique. This method is employed to increase profits and cutting back risk.
Begin by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the four on the table for a value of six on the 4th gamble.
If you don’t win on the first bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Therefore that you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
