Baccarat Banque Rules

Baccarat banque is wagered on with 8 decks of cards in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below 10 are valued at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then dealt to the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The score for each hand is the total of the 2 cards, although the first number is discarded. e.g., a hand of 5 and six has a score of 1 (five plus 6 equals 11; ignore the 1st ‘1′).

A 3rd card could be given depending on the rules below:

- If the player or bank gets a value of 8 or 9, the two players stand.

- If the player has five or less, he takes a card. Players stays otherwise.

- If the player stays, the house takes a card on a total lower than 5. If the gambler takes a card, a table is employed to determine if the bank stands or hits.

Punto Banco Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19:20 (equal money less a five percent rake. The Rake is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you still have funds left before you head out). Winning bets on the gambler pays one to one. Winning bets for tie normally pays 8:1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as a tie occurs lower than 1 in every 10 rounds. Avoid wagering on a tie. Although odds are substantially greater for 9:1 vs. 8:1)

Wagered on correctly baccarat offers generally decent odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games Baccarat has some familiar misconceptions. One of which is the same as a misunderstanding in roulette. The past isn’t a fore-teller of future actions. Tracking past results on a sheet of paper is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that surrendered its life for our paper desires.

The most common and definitely the most successful method is the 1-3-2-6 method. This technique is employed to pump up earnings and minimizing losses.

Start by wagering one chip. If you succeed, add one more to the two on the game table for a grand total of three units on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the game table, pull off four so you keep 2 on the 3rd bet. If you come away with a win on the third round, add two on the 4 on the table for a sum total of six on the fourth round.

If you do not win on the initial wager, you take a loss of 1. A profit on the initial bet followed by a loss on the second creates a hit of two. Success on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third provides you with a take of two. And success on the first three with a loss on the fourth means you are even. Winning at all four wagers leaves you with twelve, a gain of ten. This means you are able to lose the 2nd wager 5 times for each successful streak of 4 rounds and still are even.
