Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than ten are said to be at face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they just appear as the 2 hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for any hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For eg, a hand of seven and 5 has a total score of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be given out depending on the foll. guidelines:

- If the player or banker has a value of eight or nine, both players stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the player hits, a chart shall be used to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores will be the winner. Successful wagers on the banker pay 19 to twenty (even odds minus a five percent commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have cash remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie commonly pays out at 8 to one but occasionally 9 to one. (This is a terrible wager as ties will occur lower than one every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try wagering on a tie. Nonetheless odds are noticeably better – 9 to 1 versus 8 to one)

Played correctly, baccarat provides generally good odds, apart from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common myths. 1 of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is not an actual indicator of future events. Staying abreast of historic results on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most common and possibly most successful method is the 1-three-two-6 technique. This scheme is deployed to increase wins and limiting risk.

commence by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the third wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of six on the fourth gamble.

If you lose on the first wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the second causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
