Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than ten are valued at face value and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they simply represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for every hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the first digit is dumped. For e.g., a hand of 7 and 5 results in a value of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A third card might be given depending on the foll. codes:
- If the bettor or banker has a total of eight or 9, both bettors stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the player hits, a chart will be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even money minus a five % commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so make sure to have cash remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winning bets for tie normally pay 8 to one and sometimes 9 to one. (This is a crazy wager as ties will occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from laying money on a tie. However odds are significantly better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to 1)
When done smartly, baccarat offers generally decent odds, apart from the tie bet ofcourse.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about every games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually a predictor of future outcomes. Keeping track of old conclusions on a chart is simply a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most popular and almost certainly most successful method is the one-three-2-6 scheme. This tactic is deployed to increase successes and reducing risk.
start by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove four so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third bet, add two to the four on the table for a sum total of six on the fourth wager.
If you lose on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
