Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued under 10 are said to be at face value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they just appear as the two hands to be dealt).
2 hands of 2 cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for any hand shall be the total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of seven and 5 produces a total of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card can be dealt depending on the foll. regulations:
- If the bettor or banker has a total score of eight or 9, then both gamblers stand.
- If the player has 5 or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart will be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Winning stakes on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even money minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so make sure to have money remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pays eight to 1 and occasionally nine to one. (This is a crazy gamble as ties will happen lower than one every 10 hands. be wary of placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are considerably better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to one)
When played properly, baccarat presents pretty good odds, away from the tie wager obviously.
Baccarat Strategy
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is close to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an indicator of future results. Tracking of old results on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most popular and feasibly most successful method is the 1-3-2-6 scheme. This schema is employed to accentuate wins and controlling risk.
commence by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have two on the third wager. If you win the third wager, add two to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th wager.
If you lose on the 1st bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Winning all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words that you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
