Baccarat Standards
Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with 8 decks in a dealing shoe. Cards below 10 are worth face value and with 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the two hands that are dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The total for each hand is the total of the cards, but the 1st number is dropped. For example, a hand of five and six has a total of 1 (five plus 6 = 11; drop the initial ‘one’).
A third card could be dealt based on the following rules:
- If the gambler or banker achieves a score of 8 or 9, both players stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or less, he takes a card. Players otherwise stand.
- If the player stands, the bank takes a card on a total lower than five. If the gambler takes a card, a guide is used to see if the bank holds or hits.
Baccarat Banque Odds
The higher of the two totals wins. Winning wagers on the bank payout nineteen to Twenty (equal cash less a five percent commission. Commission are recorded and paid off when you quit the game so be sure to have cash around before you depart). Winning wagers on the gambler pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pays eight to one but on occasion 9:1. (This is a bad bet as ties occur less than one in every ten hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Although odds are substantially better for 9:1 versus eight to one)
Bet on correctly baccarat gives generally good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Banque Strategy
As with all games Baccarat has a handful of established misconceptions. One of which is the same as a false impression in roulette. The past is not an indicator of future outcomes. Tracking previous results on a chart is a bad use of paper and a snub to the tree that gave its life for our stationary desires.
The most accepted and probably the most favorable method is the 1-3-2-6 method. This method is used to pump up earnings and minimizing losses.
Start by placing one dollar. If you succeed, add one more to the 2 on the table for a grand total of three units on the second bet. Should you succeed you will have six on the table, take away four so you have two on the third round. If you win the 3rd round, deposit two on the four on the game table for a sum total of six on the fourth wager.
Should you do not win on the first bet, you take a hit of one. A win on the 1st wager followed by a hit on the second brings about a hit of two. Wins on the first 2 with a defeat on the 3rd provides you with a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a defeat on the fourth means you break even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means you can lose the 2nd round five times for each favorable run of 4 rounds and in the end, break even.
