Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards valued less than 10 are valued at their printed value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they merely appear as the two hands to be dealt).
2 hands of two cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the sum total of the two cards, but the very first digit is dumped. For e.g., a hand of seven and 5 gives a tally of 2 (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card could be dealt depending on the foll. standards:
- If the bettor or banker has a value of eight or nine, both players stand.
- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart might be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the two scores wins. Victorious wagers on the banker pay nineteen to twenty (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have dollars still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winning bets for tie as a rule pays 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is an awful bet as ties will happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Avoid laying money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are certainly better – nine to 1 vs. eight to 1)
When played properly, baccarat presents pretty good odds, away from the tie wager ofcourse.
Baccarat Strategy
As with most games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is not an indicator of future actions. Keeping track of prior conclusions on a chart is simply a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most established and feasibly most successful method is the one-three-two-6 concept. This schema is employed to amplify payout and minimizing risk.
Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th bet.
If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second creates a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
