Baccarat Banque Rules

Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with 8 decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below ten are worth their printed value while at the same time Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the total of the cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For instance, a hand of five and six has a total of 1 (5 plus 6 equals 11; ditch the initial ‘one’).

A 3rd card will be given based on the following rules:

- If the gambler or banker achieves a value of eight or nine, the two players stay.

- If the player has five or less, she hits. Players stands otherwise.

- If the player holds, the banker takes a card on a value less than five. If the player hits, a table is used to determine if the bank stays or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 hands wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19:20 (equal money less a 5% rake. The Rake is tracked and cleared out when you leave the game so ensure you have cash around before you head out). Winning bets on the gambler pay 1 to 1. Winning wagers for a tie usually pays 8 to 1 but occasionally 9:1. (This is a bad wager as ties occur lower than 1 in every 10 rounds. Avoid betting on a tie. However odds are substantially greater for 9 to 1 versus eight to one)

Played properly baccarat offers fairly good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Course of Action

As with all games Baccarat has a handful of general misconceptions. One of which is close to a myth in roulette. The past isn’t a fore-teller of events yet to happen. Keeping score of past results on a page of paper is a poor use of paper and an affront to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most familiar and probably the most favorable scheme is the 1-3-2-6 tactic. This method is used to maximize winnings and limit losses.

Start by placing 1 unit. If you succeed, add one more to the 2 on the table for a sum total of 3 chips on the second bet. If you succeed you will retain 6 on the game table, take away four so you have 2 on the third wager. Should you win the third bet, put down two on the 4 on the game table for a sum total of six on the 4th bet.

Should you don’t win on the initial round, you take a hit of 1. A win on the first round followed by a hit on the second causes a hit of two. Success on the 1st two with a hit on the third provides you with a take of two. And wins on the 1st three with a hit on the 4th means you are even. Winning at all 4 rounds gives you with 12, a take of 10. This means you can lose the second round five times for every successful run of 4 bets and still experience no loss.
